BOISE, ID – A Meridian man has been booked into the Ada County Jail after investigators say he downloaded child pornography over a peer-to-peer computer network.

Investigators with his Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children Unit arrested Dana Messenger, 39, Thursday morning. He now faces five felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office website.

The Ada County Prosecutor’s Office, Meridian Police Department, Department of Homeland Security and the FBI all assisted in the investigation.

No further information was immediately available.

The Idaho Attorney General’s ICAC Unit works with the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, to investigate and prosecute individuals who use the internet to criminally exploit children.
